The Arctic Office and the Nordic Embassies invited Dr. Uwe John and Dr. Maurits Halbach to the Modern Arctic Event. The talks and panel discussion addressed how communities in the Arctic region are responding to climate change and what strategies they employ to reduce their environmental footprint, as well as their contributions to the green transition.
After the opening by the Icelandic Ambassador María Erla Marelsdóttir, Antje Boetius, Director of the Alfred Wegener Institute, set the scene for the discussion. The opening session was followed by a panel with experts from the Nordic countries:

Marianne Bahr Simonsen, Smart City Bodø – Bodø (Norway)
Moderator: Volker Rachold (Arctic Office)
